Flight Instructor - Instrument
 
  
 
  The Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) Certificate is required in order to teach 
  students how to fly under instrument flight rules (IFR). Once you become a CFII you will be 
  able to train individuals towards obtaining their instrument rating as well as provide 
  instrument proficiency checks (IPCs). As a CFII applicant you will learn from scenarios based 
  on real world experiences and enhance your instrument flying skills from the right seat.
 
 
  Requirements
  •
  
  Be at least 18 years of age.
  •
  
  Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
  •
  
  Hold either a Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
  •
  
  Hold an Instrument Rating.
  •
  
  Obtain at least an FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
  •
  
  Pass FAA CFII Written Knowledge Test.
  •
  
  Pass FAA Practical Test. (Oral and Flight)
  Aeronautical Experience
  •
  
  Minimum 15 hours PIC in category and class sought
